Good news for indie developer Halfbrick.

Flight Control maker Firemint isn't the only Australian indie developer making hay on the App Store any more.

Brisbane-based firm Halfbrick has announced that its Fruit Ninja iPhone game has sold more than one million downloads since its release in mid-April.

The game involves slashing a variety of fruit in half by swiping your finger across the screen. It uses the OpenFeint platform for connected features too.

The game started as an idea from Halfbrick's lead designer Luke Muscat, and was refined in the early months of 2010 before its release.

The company says it plans more free updates for the iPhone game, and has just submitted an iPad version to Apple for approval.
