Expected to skip traditional summer launch in favour of autumn.
Up until last year, Apple fan boys had come to await the release of a new iPhone with the arrival of summer in June/July.
However, Apple changed things last year and released the iPhone 4S on October 4th, which proved to be a savvy move, generating record-breaking sales for the firm.
Now, Macotakara says Apple will repeat the 4S strategy and reveal the 'iPhone 5' in September or October, citing undisclosed sources.
Additionally, the report says all future iPhone releases will take place in autumn.
Presumably, the decision has been made to capitalise on Christmas shoppers to boost hype for the device, which is expected to come with a revamped antenna system and a unibody aluminum design.
