Research firm BCN suggests Google’s tablet may have outsold Apple’s iPad.
Google’s Nexus 7 may well have outsold Apple’s iPad during the last quarter in Japan, a new survey by local research firm BCN has revealed, cellular-news has reported.
2,400 consumer electronics stores in Japan participated in the survey, which found that Google’s Nexus 7 took 44.4 per cent of the market share, with Apple’s iPad taking 40.1 per cent.
There are, however, a number of contributing factors that could be responsible for Apple’s slip in the last quarter; the first being that there was a reported shortage of Apple products during that period.
Furthermore, and perhaps more poignantly, BCN’s figures do not take into account Apple’s own retail stores or its online sales, rendering the survey’s findings far from conclusive.
