Some punters will have to wait an extra nine days before their shiny bit of kit arrives
Reuters reports that Apple will not be shipping its latest US iPad pre-orders until April 12th, speculating that the company is having trouble keeping up with demand for the device.
Apple originally began taking orders on March 12th, with customers told to expect delivery on April 3rd (the same day the device makes its debut at retail stores).
However, its website now states that pre-orders will ship on April 12th (though customers who placed their pre-order earlier this month will still receive their iPads on April 3rd).
In fact, the April 3rd debut of the Wi-Fi-only model (starting at $499.99) was already slightly delayed - when the iPad was unveiled on 27th January, CEO Steve Jobs said it would go on sale in 60 days.
