Apple's iPad received record breaking sales in of 15.4 million in Q4 2011 and it seems to have struck a chord with businesses, according to enterprise mobile solutions provider Good Technology.
The report says the iPad and iPad 2 were the clear leaders for tablets activated among Good's clients with 96 per cent. The remaining six per cent opted for Android tablets revealing the Samsung Galaxy Tab to be the most popular.
Results show that of the top ten industries types covered by Good, iPads were activated most in financial services, business/professional services and life sciences. Financial services alone accounted for 42 per cent of activations.
The most popular enterprise smartphone activations among Good's clients show 65 per cent for iPhones 4 and 4S, while Android accounted for 35 per cent with devices such as the Galaxy S II.
John Herrema, Good Technology’s SVP Corporate Strategy, said: "As we expected, iPhone activations slowed in Q3 in anticipation of the iPhone 4S and then jumped significantly immediately after its launch, with 31 percent of Q4 activations coming from that device alone.

Good anticipates that iPad activations will slow in the approach to March when the iPad 3 is rumoured to be released, just as iPhone 4 activations slowed in the approach to the 4S' release.
