IO Global to distribute Universal Music catalogue to mobile and PC users.
The non-exclusive global agreement will kick off in South Africa, where IO will offer mobile operators and ISPs access to Universal's 300,000 track library, including the likes of 50 Cent, Kanye West and Mika. It's been a busy couple of months for IO, a mobile content management and delivery specialist born out of BT's Research Labs. Last week it inked a deal to provide Sony BMG content across Africa and in September it opened a New York office to target US operators.
