Intellistream boxes 3G video

Licensed product for video call-based content delivery now available.

Intellistream has made its Unistream 3G video content delivery platform available as a 'single box' licensed product to complement its established hosted platform.

The UK-based company says its technology can be used to power gambling, dating, interactive TV and CCTV services that will work on any 3G phone without necessitating a software download.

To access services, users just make a video call to access a visual IVR menu, with calls charged at either premium or standard rates. Intellistream says this cuts out pricing confusion associated with 'per megabyte' video clip downloads.

Intellistream CEO Jim Beagle told ME: "Our focus is interactive video-based apps, keeping things as simple as possible - video calling is standardised on all phones, so fragmentation problems are not an issue."
