One step closer to arrival on Google Play.
Earlier this month, Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom said the retro photo sharing app was being tested in private beta for Android, describing it as "one of the most incredible Android apps ever."
Now, the official rollout draws ever nearer, as Instagram has opened a new registration page, which offers people the chance to sign-up ahead of the Android unveiling.
The page simply says, 'Want to be first in line for Instagram on Android?', but while it is pretty basic, one can assume that subscribers will be plied with alerts of the full features and functionality nearer the time of the big reveal.
Instagram has taken off recently, securing 15 million new downloads in the past six months to hit almost 30 million users in total.
Celebrities like Justin Bieber have also jumped on the bandwagon – which would have helped drive the numbers – inviting fans to follow their movements on the platform.
