Inmobia into new territory

Emerging markets the goal as Danish mobile video producer turns platform provider.

Inmobia is to offer brands and media owners a platform for building off-portal mobile sites "in as little as 15 minutes".

The Danish company, well known for creating made-for-mobile video series such as Almost Hollywood, first unveiled its Media Portal Manager software at Mobile World Congress in February. It already has five customers.

Inmobia says the system can build rich media sites that offer music, video and app downloads/streaming supported by full reporting. It also permits segmentation of the user base for better targeting, and claims to have drastically reduced the cost of adding these features.

Mads Galsgaard, chief marketing officer at Inmobia, said: “It’s clear that brands are moving off-portal, and that they need a quick, affordable route to building sites. That’s what Media Portal Manager provides.”

However, the firm is also an aggregator and can take third party content to its network of operator partners. It currently works with carriers on five continents.

In recent months Inmobia has been making big strides in developing markets. It currently has 14 operator partners in Africa, recently launched a regional office in Nicaragua, and is present in Guatemala, El Salvador, the Dominican Republic and Honduras.

It also has plans to launch portals aimed at Central Americans on US operator decks.
