Infographic: The Death of RIM

How BlackBerry's crown slipped between 1999 and 2012.

Business intelligence firm MBA Online has created an infographic pinpointing the highs and lows of Canada-based RIM.

It calls it the 'death of RIM' which is a bit premature given that the OEM sold 10m units in Q4 2011.

Mind you, the firm is on an abysmal slide.

It entered the market in 1999 with the BlackBerry 850, which pushed its annual sales up by 80 per cent over five years, and delivered one million users by 2004.

The success story continued until 2008, by which time the iPhone and Android had been launched and the RIM graph began to slide downwards.

Recent months haven't been kind to RIM as the firm suffered a worldwide power outage, continued falling sales and a hierarchy reshuffle.

One man was even killed at a BlackBerry Party.

Check out the infographic below.
