Travel reservations are the most common purchase via smartphones.
Go-Globe has compiled the m-commerce statistic and trends infographic, which claims more people will access the web from their mobile phones than PCs by next year.
It also shows that the value of mobile payment transactions around the globe will reach $490.9 billion in 2015, rising from $171.5bn this year, and that 80 per cent of mobile users prefer location-based ads to make them more relevant.
Meanwhile, 41 per cent of smartphone owners have made a purchase from their device, with travel reservations the most popular purchase, followed by clothing, food/beverages and toys/games with 17, 16, 15, and 11 per cent, respectively.
