And more than 30m downloads were made during Christmas week (Dec 22nd-29th).
Flurry has reported that 1.76bn Android and iOS app downloads were made between December 25th-31st, while 328m downloads were made on Christmas Day, and figures from Rovio show that its Angry Birds franchise was a key contributor to the figures.
The games publisher reports 8m Angry Birds downloads on Christmas itself, with 30m downloads between December 22nd-29th. The recent Angry Birds Star Wars game topped the App Store downloads chart in record time when it was released in November, and has remained atop the US chart since launch.
The franchise's success story doesn't look to be slowing, and Rovio recently announced a 3D Angry Birds movie for a release in summer 2016, while it released a Christmas song for charity.
