Telecoms minister insists that licenses will be awarded before the end of 2009.
Reuters reports that India's much-anticipated 3G spectrum auction will happen before the year is out.
Asked whether/when the auction would take place, telecoms minister Andimuthu Raja said: "definitely... in 2009 itself".
The auction was originally supposed to happen back in January, but was delayed after the Department of Telecoms and the Finance Ministry fell out over pricing.
