Personalisation and notifications take centre stage for social gigging application.
Online music community iLike has released an updated version of its Local Concerts iPhone app, with features that make use of the latest iPhone 3.0 software.
The app provides concert listings, but the new version makes this more personalised by scanning the music a user has stored on their iPhone or iPod touch, and providing listings based on those bands.
Meanwhile, it also uses iPhone's push notification feature to alert users when a new gig by any of those artists is added to its database, ensuring they don't miss the chance to buy tickets.
Other new features include in-app maps to help fans find their way to gigs, and social features such as being able to email concert details to friends from within the app.
As in the previous version, partnerships between iLike and ticket vendors like Ticketmaster and Live Nation allow users to tap through to buy tickets.
