Nominees for the 'Next Great Mobile Game' award confirmed.

The organisers of the 2009 Independent Games Festival Mobile event have confirmed the titles nominated for the 'Next Great Mobile Game' award.

The accolade, which is designed to recognise innovative titles across the mobile and handheld platforms, is orientated towards games in prototype form that offer groundbreaking concepts.

Games featured in the shortlist include FastFoot Challenge, a multiplayer GPS title where play takes place as a real-world chase supported by mobile phones, and Picopoke, an interpretive photography adventure integrated with Facebook that asks players to take pictures to overcome tasks. Rhythm of War, a unique musical-action title for the PSP has also been nominated.

Finalists are presently being asked to give a presentation and demonstration of their concept during the IGF Mobile ceremony, to be held during the Game Developers Conference Mobile session on 24th March. The audience will ultimately decide on the game that wins the award.
