A bumper harvest in store for social developer Playmesh.
Independent developer Playmesh has racked up more than one million downloads of its free iFarm game for iPhone in just ten days since it launched on the App Store.
Not bad for a company with a staff of just five people, as MobileCrunch explains. But Playmesh says its total downloads for all its games are now more than 10 million, with a player community of 5 million people.
The developer generally offers its apps for free, and makes money from a mixture of advertising and virtual goods.
According to CEO Charles Ju, it's making CPMs of $1 through its mobile advertising partner Greystripe - which soon mounts up through games like Link4 Online, which is being played more than a million times a day.
It remains to be seen, though, if the company's early success on iPhone will continue if bigger rivals from the online social gaming space like Zynga and Playfish put more effort into iPhone in the coming months.
