iPhone app charts Top 300 App Store charts in every country.
The headline might seem like overkill, but seriously, anyone making iPhone apps is going to want PositionApp on their handset.
It's the work of UK firm ustwo, and has just gone live on the App Store. The company describes it as "the world's most in-depth, intuitive app discovery and performance tracking tool".
Essentially, it tracks the App Store's Top 300 apps chart, in every country around the world, and lets users of the app drill down into that data however they like. It pulls in data from Apple's public RSS feeds to do this.
You can browse by country, genre, position change, app name, free and paid, and by day, week or month, while setting certain apps as 'favourites'.
For a developer, that means you can, for example, set your own apps and those of your rivals as favourites, then monitor their chart performance dynamically from your iPhone. Plus there's six months of historical data to dig into.

The features tracking the fastest rising apps could also make PositionApp hugely useful for iPhone-owning consumers, who want to see what's currently hot on the App Store.
Oh, and global charting positions for any app can be shared by email from within PositionApp. Ideal for letting your fierce rivals know that they're only big in Venezuela. For example.
"PositionApp™ was created for developers, marketers, journalists and reviewers, but by adding a revolutionary set of app discovery dashboards highlighting the biggest app risers in the top 100 and top 300, the app will be appreciated by just about any app user," says ustwo co-founder Mills.
The application went live on the App Store today (App Store link), and is currently free to download, thanks to ustwo working with AdMob to make the app free for a limited time.
