I Am T-Pain takes Auto-Tune to voicemail

Dial up your friends and assault their ears.

Smule has updated its I Am T-Pain iPhone app with a new feature allowing users to send their Auto-Tuned songs to friends as voicemails.

The new feature - T-Pain Dial - only works in the US though.

It involves singing a message or song into the iPhone, and having the Auto-Tune effect applied to your voice, before sending the results to a friend.

Via a partnership with SayNow, the friend will be called and played the song - or it will be left on their voicemail if they don't answer.

Smule plans to charge users $0.99 for three T-Pain Dials, although in an introductory offer, people will get five for that price this weekend.
