Hungama's big Indian video play

Dailymotion has appointed Hungama Mobile to roll out its mobile video content in India.

The deal will mobilise Dailymotion, which claims to be the world's largest independent video entertainment web site. Hungama and Dailymotion believe the prospects are good for mobile video in India, where PC penetration is low and 3G is set to be introduced later in the year.

Neeraj Roy, CEO of Hungama Mobile, said, "We believe that platforms such Dailymotion would be ideal for discovering video content across UGC, creative and premium licensed and we would like to enable that across internet and mobile. We are confident that this tie-up will create a huge impact in the Indian online video sharing market which is already showing signs of growth."

Hungama Mobile deals with over 250 leading media and entertainment companies.
