Hulu Plus hits 2m subscribers

"The fastest ramp of paid subscribers among any video subscription service in the US."

CEO of online video streaming service Hulu, Jason Kilar, announced the info at an Ad Age event, claiming the milestone – reached in 21 months – is "the fastest ramp of paid subscribers among any video subscription service in the US", according to IPTV.

While Hulu online is free, Hulu Plus costs $7.99 per month for unlimited streaming across smartphones, tablets, connected TVs and consoles.

Kilar reckons that subscription services will account for more than half of its business revs by the end of the year, and the extra cash will build on the firm's existing video content.
