Hisense licenses eyeSight gesture tech

Chinese consumer electronics group to put tech into connected Android based Smart TVs.

Israel-based eyeSight offers touchless control for camera-enabled devices such as tablets, phones, PCs, TVs, and set top boxes. This is its first TV deal.

The first model to ship is the Series XT710, which was introduced to Chinese markets this month.

Users can control various functions using hand gestures in front of the device’s 2D camera.

“The fact that an important global home appliance manufacturer such as Hisense chose to use our technology demonstrates eyeSight's leading position in the field of gesture recognition technology,” said Gideon Shmuel, eyeSight’s CEO.
