Martin Higginson has made another move in the content space: his CityBlock company has acquired the user generated video specialist Springdoo for cash and shares.
New Zealand-based Springdoo will shortly go to market with a service that permits users to record and upload mobile videos to community web sites such as MySpace and Bebo. The company believes the technology could also be useful to commercial organisations as a viral marketing tool.Higginson said: “The acquisition of Springdoo marks CityBlock’s entry into the mobile and internet space with what the board believes is an exciting piece of technology. The directors believe that, at some point in the future, PC and mobile Internet systems will converge; Springdoo allows the user to use both these technologies together in a very easy to use manner.”
