Snowboards and hamsters. Sadly not in the same game.
Mobile games publisher HandyGames has announced a deal to preload two of its games on Sony Ericsson's Yari handset.
The games - Snowboard Rush and Hamster Hustle - both use the handset's GestureTek feature to allow players to control the action on-screen by moving their hands and bodies in front of the Yari's camera.
"Our creative team is happy to release titles with such innovative game controls on the Sony Ericsson Yari." says CEO and head of production Markus Kassulke.
"We have proven that there is a dimension of mobile game play other than using old fashioned navigation keys and touch controls. It is an entirely new experience and a lot of fun to play a mobile game by crouching, jumping or twisting in front of your mobile phone camera."
Gestural game controls are big news in the console world, from Wiimotes to Microsoft's upcoming Project Natal technology. Sony Ericsson is hoping gestural technology can also make a splash in the mobile world.
