Two new mobile games based on Activision's huge licence in the pipeline.
Hands-On Mobile has secured global mobile licensing rights from Activision to develop and publish Guitar Hero World Tour and a follow up to the recently launched Guitar Hero III: Backstage Pass mobile game.Guitar Hero World Tour will be released later this year in conjunction with the console game, while the follow-up title will be available in 2009.
It was widely expected that Activision-owned Vivendi Games Mobile would inherit the Guitar Hero mobile rights, but it seems the unit's uncertain future has maybe put paid to that.
Hands-On's Guitar Hero World Tour will include cross-carrier and real-time multiplayer capabilities, plus an interactive web companion that will allow players to create profiles, browse leaderboards and download new music.
In addition to the guitar, the game will include drums as a playable feature for every song in the game.
