Handango gets 'physical' with Best Buy

App retailer is going to the high street following a deal with Best Buy.

The smartphone app specialist, which established itself as a web destination and handset client, will now take its products to 'real' people in Best Buy's US stores. Apps will be offered at the point of sale using Best Buy's in-store 'Mobile Genie' system. Additionally, Handango's In-HandT client will be custom branded for Best Buy, and downloaded directly onto each device so customers can keep buying when they leave the shop.

Bill Stone, CEO of Handango, said:  "Customers will now be able to purchase top titles a la carte with simple pricing, have them downloaded and installed by Best Buy Mobile's expert staff making it easier than ever to personalize their devices."

Selected Best Buy outlets will also offer customers a selection of Mobile App Packs featuring three game titles for Windows Mobile, Blackberry and Palm. Games will be pre-loaded onto Micro SD cards.
