But that's only £15k of actual revenue.
The Guardian's official iPhone app has sold 9,000 copies in its first two days on the App Store, according to parent company Guardian News & Media.
MocoNews does the sums, estimating that the app's £2.39 price point means gross revenues of just over £21,000, which after Apple's 30% cut means around £15,000 for the newspaper group.
Peanuts, compared to the daily sales and ad revenue of the print version - not to mention the annual losses of its parent group. But it's a start.
The app is currently the top paid app in the UK App Store, but is also riding high in the US, where the newspaper has amassed a following with its website in recent years.
