iPhone 4, HTC Desire, LG Optimus 7, BlackBerry Torch and Samsung Galaxy S battle to be handset of the year.
The awards event will be hosted by Jonathan Ross on Tuesday February 15th at at the National Palace in Barcelona during Mobile World Congress.
Should be a long night, with 22 awards to be handed out. They include the brand-new 'Global Mobile App Awards', plus categories for 'Best Mobile Advertising and Marketing', 'Mobile Innovation, Social and Economic Development', 'Best Technology', 'Best Use of Mobile for Business and Enterprise' and the 'Green Mobile Awards'.
Up for best app are Flipboard, Foursquare, Google Goggles, Google Maps, Angry Birds and Spotify.
Also of close interest to the mobile content community will be the various app awards and those for 'Best Mobile Device' and 'Device Manufacturer of the Year'.

The afternoon awards ceremony is open to all Global Mobile Awards nominees, Mobile World Congress Platinum and Gold Pass conference attendees as well as Congress Party and Awards Celebration ticket holders, and all accredited press.
