Service will switch off on Monday, April 30th to enable the handover.
Seemingly, the daily deals service has acquired Ditto as part of its ongoing mobile strategy.
The Ditto app is available across iOS and Nokia, but the platform will wind down in the next fortnight ahead of a shutdown on April 30th to become a Groupon-owned fixture.
In its one year of operation, Ditto enabled users to provide each other with personal opinions about films, eateries, activities and more.
Ditto, blogged: "When we talked to our friends at Groupon, we were impressed. They are about creating that world, too. So we’re going to do it together.
"We can’t reveal what we’ll be working on at Groupon but we are excited to give it 100% – to enable this, we’ll be winding down Ditto. We think you’ll love what we and Groupon dream up next.
"Thanks for believing in us! And stay tuned. The journey’s just starting."
The Ditto buy comes on the back of Groupon purchasing geolocation tech maker Hyperpublic and barcode specialist Kima Labs in February.
