Streaming music app available directly from its own site.
Grooveshark hovers on the edge of legality, and has been a target of record label disquiet in the past. This was enough to have it removed from Android Market earlier this month.
Now it's back. Thanks to Android’s openness, which lets users install third-party applications through the browser, Grooveshark is now available at m.grooveshark.com.
Like Spotify, mobile access comes with as fee. In this case, $9 a month.
The Grooveshark service, which has more than six million songs, was sued successfully by EMI in 2009. Another lawsuit involving Universal Music Group is still ongoing.
Last year, Apple removed Grooveshark from its App Store too.
