Ad-funded mobile games specialist Greystripe has raised an additional $5.5 million in Series C funding, led by its existing investor, Incubic Venture Capital, with Steamboat Ventures and Monitor Ventures joining in.Robert J. Majteles, founder of Treehouse Capital, has also joined Greystripe’s Board of Directors.
The company says it's going to use the new funds to integrate its mobile inventory directly into "industry-accepted" online media buying software.
In theory, this means ad agencies to "click to add mobile" from within their campaign management software and also paves the way, says Greystripe, for Flash ads on the iPhone.
The company says it has delivered 180 million ad-supported mobile game and app downloads to date, and counts HP, Paramount Pictures, Burger King and Axe/Unilever among the advertisers on its network.
