Developers complained, and Google has responded with features for next version of its app store.
Google has announced that it will introduce new features in the next version of Android Market to provide users with more information on apps and games before downloading them.
"Developers will be able to provide screenshots, promotional icons and descriptions that will better show off applications and games," writes Google's Eric Chu in a blog post.
"We have also added four new sub-categories for applications: sports, health, themes and comics. Developers can now choose these sub-categories for both new and existing applications via the publisher website."
Google has also published a video demo showing some of these new features, which seems to show that paid games and apps will get equal billing with free downloads - answering another concern from developers, particularly in the games sector.
Android Market has faced plenty of criticism and negative comparisons with Apple's App Store since its launch. Earlier this week, games developer Larva Labs revealed it was only making $62.39 a day from two of its games on Android Market, and laid into the store's design and features.

Hopefully these improvements will start to turn the tide. Android is set for huge growth in the coming months as a steady flow of new handsets ship with Google's OS. A better Android Market will help developers benefit from the upswing too.
