Google releases Android Gesture Search

Google releases Android Gesture Search

Scribble with your finger to find contacts, apps, messages and so on.

The function is an extension of the universal search button that lets users type in the first few letters of a search to see all options displayed. This does the same thing but uses handwriting recognition.

It's only available for devices running Eclair (Android 2.0), which is currently only found on the Nexus One and Verizon Droid. Users tap the application to get a black screen, where they can start drawing the first few letters of the query.

Intriguing. Be interesting to see how it copes with groups notorious for the bad handwriting, like doctors or anyone under 21.
