Google has begun trialling a mobile version of its ad brokerage service, Adsense.
A blog called Self Made Minds has reported the launch of an Adsense mobile beta. This would constitute a significant move for Google – and herald interesting times for the mobile pureplay Admob.Adsense is a self-serve brokerage for bringing online ads to millions of web sites. It’s been hugely successful, but the only company to offer this service via mobile in a significant way has been Admob, which serves around one billion ads every six weeks.
The blog quoted a Google statement, which read: “As part of our efforts to develop new and improved AdSense products for our partners, we will begin a limited beta test for AdSense for mobile. AdSense for mobile allows publishers to monetize their mobile websites through the placement of targeted text ads.
