Denies it's divvying up Android app revenues with its operator partners.
Google has moved to scotch rumours that it's sharing Android app advertising revenues with its operator partners.
It was responding to reports late last week that it's cutting ad-share deals with carriers who sell Android handsets.
And it is. But only from search advertising, rather than applications.
"We share revenue on search, not on mobile applications," a spokesperson tells PaidContent, which published the original story. "The same is true for non-Android devices that use Google as the default search engine."
Even so, we suspect this won't be the last we hear of such suggestions. With Apple readying its own mobile advertising push, and Google in the process of buying AdMob, it would hardly be a surprise if carriers were keen to try and secure a slice of the in-app advertising pie.

Whether Google or Apple would entertain the idea is another question entirely.
