Visual search tech goes live within the Google Mobile app.
Google has announced that its Google Goggle mobile visual search service is now available to iPhone users.
However, rather than release it as a standalone app, as it has on Android, Google has chosen to integrate Goggles into its general Google Mobile app for iOS.
"In the new version of Google Mobile App just tap on the camera button to search using Goggles," explains software engineer Milan Broum in a blog post.
"Goggles will analyze the image and highlight the objects it recognizes - just click on them to find out more."
Broum warns that the technology works best for landmarks, logos and the covers of books, DVDs and games, but not so well for animals, plants or food.
