Android gathering on 5th January announced as pricing info leaks.
Google looks set to officially unveil its own-branded Nexus One Android smartphone next Tuesday, at an event at its Mountain View headquarters.
An invite has been sent to journalists to an 'Android press gathering', saying that "With the launch of the first Android-powered device just over a year ago, we've seen how a powerful, open platform can spur mobile product innovation. And this is just the beginning of what's possible."
The Nexus One broke cover before Christmas, after Google distributed the handset to select employees, while maintaining publicly that it was just an experiment in "dogfooding" its own smartphone OS.
Separately yesterday, leaked screenshots appeared to show an announcement by US operator T-Mobile on an internal website that it will be Google's launch partner for the Nexus One.
"Google, with support from T-Mobile, is scheduled to launch a new Android device in early January," says the website. "The Google Android phone will be sold solely by Google via the Web".

How much will it be sold for? A-ha, that information appears to have leaked too.
Screenshots of the official Nexus One landing page published by tech blog Gizmodo appear to show that the Nexus One will be sold for $530 unlocked, or $180 with a two-year T-Mobile contract.
