Google crowned most popular mobile website on Opera Mini in 2011

Total number of web pages viewed rises by 98.2 per cent.

Browser firm Opera revealed the most popular websites on its Opera Mini mobile browser in its latest State of the Mobile Web report.

While Google.com came in first, Facebook was in second and YouTube jumped up one space to come in third, according to the report.

Results show that Opera has 144.6 million users worldwide accessing the Mini browser, which is up 3.3 per cent month-on-month and 247 per cent year-on-year.

The total number of pages viewed has almost doubled since November 2010 to pass 88.5 billion.

Russian social networks Vkontakte and Odnoklassniki took the fourth and fifth spots, Russian search engine Yandex was sixth, followed by Wikipedia, My.Opera.com, Yahoo.com and Twitter finishing off the top ten.
