Is this the first sign of Android fighting against Siri?
Clever Sense is the creator of the digital assistant app Alfred, however the cost specifics of Google's acquisition weren't revealed.
Available on iOS and more recently Android, Alfred doesn't offer voice command functions, but searches the web to provide users with recommendations.

Apple bought Siri back in April 2010, so Google hasn't exactly been quick off the mark to respond. Additionally, the firm hasn't revealed the exact capacity in which it will utilise Clever Sense.
Talking of the takeover, Babak Pahlavan, co-founder and CEO, Clever Sense, said: "We are delighted to announce that Clever Sense has been acquired by Google! Together with the Google team, we will accelerate our efforts toward this shared vision.

"Google helps local businesses connect with potential customers, and its worldwide presence can bring the value of Clever Sense to a much larger audience. Discovering local information is extremely important to both users and businesses, and the acquisition of Clever Sense will benefit both."
