Upping sticks from San Mateo to San Francisco.
Glu Mobile is moving its corporate headquarters from San Mateo to San Francisco, having taken a lease on a new building in Fremont Street.
An SEC filing explains the rationale:
"Glu’s decision to move its corporate headquarters to San Francisco was largely due to long-term strategic considerations, as Glu believes that the center of digital gaming has been transitioning, and will continue to transition, from the San Mateo/Redwood City area in Silicon Valley to San Francisco."
The San Francisco office is also smaller than the existing San Mateo HQ, which according to the filing has more office space "than is appropriate for its current number of employees".
Alongside the office move, Glu has announced that its VP and General Counsel Kevin Chou is entering a 'transitional employment agreement' before leaving the company, receiving a $90,000 lump sum payment when he goes.
