'You can reach 500 million people on Facebook, but you can't do that on mobile without going cross-platform'
Glu Mobile CEO Niccolo de Masi isn't scared of taking on Zynga in the mobile social gaming space, despite the gulf in the two companies' resources.
He predicts that while big social games companies are all targeting mobile, many will focus purely on iPhone rather than grapple with supporting other smartphones too.
"Zynga is an impressive company in terms of their size and execution, and they'll be a fierce competitor on mobile. But they will find it more challenging to negotiate the mobile ecosystem," he tells ME.
"You can reach 500 million people on Facebook, but you can't do that on mobile without going cross-platform. That's Glu's strength."

"Your game can't be very social or viral if you can't invite your friends to play against you," says de Masi.
