Operator will offer 70,000 free mobile games and applications for download
Virgin Mobile India has teamed with GetJar to launch an app store to its customers across the country.
The operator, which is a joint venture between Tata Teleservices and Richard Branson's Virgin Group, says the store will offer 70,000 free games and apps, including social networking, entertainment, finance, food, health, search, lifestyle and utilities.
To access the the store, which is built on GetJar's App Catalogue Express white label platform, Virgin Mobile customers need to visit can visit m.virginin.getjar.com.
The link is currently live on Virgin Mobile India’s WAP portal (Vbytes) on its GSM platform across 16 circles - Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu & Chennai, Kerala, Orissa, Mumbai & Maharashtra, Kolkata & West Bengal, Haryana, Bihar, MP&CG, Punjab, UP (E) and UP (W).
Only the data browsing charges of 1p/kb will be charged on access.
