Pandigital and Skytext will be embedding indie app store on their new devices.

Independent app store GetJar has announced two deals with tablet manufacturers that will see its store embedded on their new devices.

The companies aren't household names, but they represent a new opportunity for GetJar. Pandigital will embed the store on all its new tablets, including the Pandigital Nova and Pandigital Star slates in the US. Meanwhile, Skytext is also preloading the store on its SkyPad Alpha tablet.

"GetJar is the perfect addition to our new tablet line that offers users a choice in devices that best fit into their digital lifestyle – whether they are a student, a busy mom, a professional, or all three," says Pandigital's VP of business development Neil Yarian.

"As we continue to grow into a popular destination for Android users, we are thrilled to be the app store of choice for all new Pandigital and Skytex Android devices," says GetJar CEO Ilja Laurs.

GetJar recently passed two billion downloads, but is losing its marketing boss Patrick Mork, who is taking up a new role at Google. The company is also engaged in a spat with Apple over using the term App Store.
