GestureTek puts gesture control into Sony Ericsson Yari

New device will be a touchscreen you don't event have to touch.

Gesturetek's EyeMobile optical tracking software uses the camera to measure the movement of the phone, or the user, from one camera frame to the next, allowing for interaction without touching buttons or the screen.

Functions could include menu selection, scrolling, panning, zooming, shuffling playlists, turning pages, web browsing and more.

EyeMobile is already available on over 100 million mobile devices, and Gesturetek is well-known for its work with Sony on the pioneering PlayStation EyeToy games.

“EyeMobile is easy-to-implement, providing touch-free gesture control functionality without the cost of hardware-based touch screen systems” said Francis MacDougall, GestureTek’s COO.
