Game and Gamestation will be selling £4.95 cards for downloads of Android, BlackBerry, Symbian and Java games.
Mobile games publisher Gameloft has unveiled its latest direct-to-consumer initiative: Gameloft Game Cards.
The cards are initially being sold in the UK through two high-street retailers: Game and Gamestation. The cards cost £4.95, and enable the purchaser to download five games from Gameloft's own mobile store.
That means no iOS titles though. Instead, people buying the Game Cards can choose from Android, BlackBerry, Symbian and Java games on the publisher's D2C store, with savings of up to 66% available.
Gameloft is saying this is the first time people in the UK have been able to buy its mobile games from physical retailers, although we're fairly sure it used to sell game boxes with download codes inside in mobile shops back in the day.
The new cards follow the publisher's recent launch of a subscription service for Android HD devices.
