Publisher attributes growth to iPhone and 'solid' demand for Java and Brew games.

Gameloft has posted consolidated revenue of 30.8 million euros for the first quarter of 2009, up 22 per cent year-on-year.

Europe accounted for 35 per cent of revenue, North America 37 per cent and RoW 29 per cent.

In terms of platform, 94 per cent of revenue came from mobile games, with the remainder from its console operations (XBLA, DS, etc).

In a short statement Gameloft attributed the growth to the strong performance of its games on Apple's iPhone, but also to solid sales of games for Java and Brew phones.

Overall, the company is expecting to grow its revenues and to improve profitability in 2009.

Gameloft generated revenue of 110.3 million euros last year, up 15 per cent from 2007.
