French publisher's Asphalt car racing franchise passes sales landmark as release of N-Gage version looms.
The original Asphalt Urban GT was released back in 2004, followed by GT 2 in 2005 and Street Rules in 2006, generating ten million downloads along the way.That latest incarnation will make its debut on Nokia's revamped N-Gage in full 3D, with a fourth installment in the series hitting operator decks for all devices this summer.
Michel Guillemot, president of Gameloft, said: “We are excited to welcome Asphalt into Gameloft’s exclusive club where some 50 Gameloft titles have topped the million-in-sales mark; we expect several other Gameloft brands to top the 10-million-in-sales mark this year.”
