Gamelion goes D2C with Global Baseball

Polish mobile game publisher uses in-game billing for latest addition to its 'Global' franchise.

Global Baseball is now available on the 'majority' of Symbian 3rd edition handsets, following up on Gamelion's 2007 releases Global Race and Global Cricket.

The Warsaw-based publisher has integrated OpenBit's billing system into the game, allowing them to purchase a game license. The game can be downloaded from Gamelion’s website, and activated after installing it on a handset.

Lukasz Szczepanski, producer of Global Baseball, said: “This distribution model will allow us and our partners to host the game on regular internet websites and will allow our customers to access games outside of their mobile operator space, as well as pick a  pricing model that suits their needs fully."
