Galaxy S3 to be unveiled on May 3rd?

Samsung invites UK press to 'meet the next Galaxy'.

The South Korean firm is likely to reveal the Galaxy S III smartphone on Thursday, May 3rd, if today's press invitation is anything to go by.

The enigmatic email simply says: "Come and meet the next Galaxy."

Of course, Samsung has a long list of devices in the Galaxy series including phones, tablets and MP3 players, but most of these have been unveiled recently, all apart from the S III.

We previously reported that the firm was choosing to snub the MWC 2012 event in favour of a standalone Galaxy S III event in May, and now it appears this may be true.

The device is expected to have a 7mm depth, quad-core processors, an 8MP rear camera, Ice Cream Sandwich and LTE – for countries that can actually offer the spectrum.

The UK event will take place at the Earls Court Exhibition Centre in London.
