Galaxy S III to be just 7mm thick?

Samsung expected to ignore MWC 2012 and launch it in May.

Samsung's Galaxy S series has sold millions and has become the firm's flagship range. Now, rumours about the S III are gathering speed.

However, the Korean phone maker recently revealed it would snub MWC in favour of a  separate launch event, which ETNews says will take place in May.

The report says the S III will be 7mm thick – that's 1.5mm thinner than the S II.

It's believed the 'superphone' will use special components that are up to 20 per cent thinner than the usual structure to achieve the results.

Additionally, the device is also expected to feature LTE support, a quad-core processor, eight-megapixel rear camera and a two-megapixel front-facing camera.
