G-mode's pawn action

Japanese games giant G-mode is bringing chess to Nokia’s SNAP multiplayer platform.

The company is developing Chess a Moment, an online and turn-based chess game, for SNAP. Players can compete in up to eight live games simultaneously, and have up to 30 hours to ponder their next move. The game should be out in 4Q 2007.

G-mode began working with SNAP Mobile via the SingTel Game Quest competition in 2006. Antoine Doumenc, head of SNAP Mobile, said: "Chess a Moment is a winning example of how to build an innovative and fun mobile multiplayer game that transcends many of today's network limitations.”
